The incorrupt remains of Pope St. Pius V (d. 1572), enshrined in the Basilica of St. Mary Major in Rome. This Pope was distinguished for being an excellent leader of the Catholic Church during the moral and spiritual corruption that was rampant in England during his time. His personal integrity and sanctity were reknowned even before his election to the Papacy, and there is also ample evidence that the Lord favored him with mystical gifts, which he exercised for the benefit of the Holy Roman Catholic Church.
